It our year at school, 16 of us gained the Gold award - but only 8 of us turned up for the presentation at the school! Here we are, all looking stunning, having our photo taken for the local paper. Remember those cheesy grins now!...
Normally, the certificates are presented at St James' Palace, but I went to a garden party at Buck House hosted by HRH Phil the Greek in July instead! Prince Edward was there too, aswell as many other celebs such as Phil Gayle etc.. A cup of char at the Royal's expense doesn't sound bad, does it?! But, I guess I had to dress up - shirt and tie and all that!!!
Chris' Final Thought
So, after all that hard work, "Was it worth it?", I hear you ask...
The answer, of course, is YES!!! - It's a great experience, and well worth the effort...the badge is great, and there's no denying that it looks good on one's CV!!! There's still time before you're too old to do it as well - you have until you're the grand old age of 25! For more details, try the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Website - but, of course, not until you've marvelled at the rest of my wonderful site!!!
